Day 1 Birmingham to Lisbon Arrival in Fatima
Depart Birmingham this morning on your flight to Lisbon. On arrival, meet your Marian Pilgrimages
guide and travel by private coach to Fatima. Upon arrival at the Hotel Steyler, check in and relax. In the
afternoon, begin your pilgrimage with an orientation tour of the Sanctuary, visiting the Chapel of the
Apparitions, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary where Saints Francisco and Jacinta rest, and the Basilica of the
Holy Trinity. After dinner at the hotel, join pilgrims from all nations for the evening Candlelight Rosary Procession
in the Sanctuary.
Day 2 The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima
After breakfast, we begin our pilgrimage with morning Mass at the Capelinhathe Chapel of the Apparitions
where Our Lady appeared to the three shepherd children in 1917. Following Mass, we take a guided orientation
tour of the Sanctuary grounds. Well visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary where the tombs of Saints
Francisco and Jacinta, and Sister Lucia, rest in quiet repose. Nearby, well see the great Basilica of the Holy Trinity,
the Monument to the Sacred Heart, the Berlin Wall remnant, and the Chapel of Adoration.
In the afternoon, we visit the Museum of Light and Peace, which houses precious artifacts including relics from
the shepherd children and gifts offered to Our Lady by pilgrims from around the world. There will be some time
for quiet prayer or to enjoy a coffee in the nearby cafes before we gather again for dinner. This evening, we join
pilgrims from across the world in the Rosary and Candlelight Procession, a highlight of the Fatima experience and
a moving expression of faith and unity.
Day 3 Valinhos, Aljustrel and the Angels Grotto
This morning, we retrace the steps of the shepherd children along the Hungarian Way of the Cross. Winding
through olive groves and oak trees, we reach Valinhos, the site of the August 19th apparition of Our Lady. Our
path continues to the Loca do Anjo, the sacred spot where the Angel of Peace appeared to the children before
the apparitions of the Virgin Mary began. These places remain almost untouched by time and are steeped in a
deep spiritual atmosphere.
We then continue on foot to Aljustrel, the simple village where the three children lived. Here well visit the family
homes of Saints Francisco and Jacinta and of Sister Lucia. We pause at the well in Lucias garden, where the
children also experienced a vision. After returning to the hotel for lunch, the remainder of the afternoon is free.
Pilgrims may wish to visit the Sanctuary again for personal prayer, shop for religious items, or spend quiet time in
one of the chapels. Dinner is served in the hotel before we gather once more for the evening Candlelight
Procession.
Day 4 Santarem and the Eucharistic Miracle
After breakfast, we meet in the Sanctuary where we will have a private group Mass in one of the chapels.
Following Mass, there will be a short period for personal prayer and reflection before our early lunch.
In the afternoon, we journey to Santarem, one of the oldest cities in Portugal and the site of a Eucharistic Miracle
dating back over 700 years. In the Church of St. Stephen, we will venerate the Sacred Host that has been preserved to this day, a powerful testimony to the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. This visit is a deeply
moving moment in our pilgrimage, linking us not only to Fatima but to the profound mysteries of our Catholic
faith.
On our return to Fatima, we enjoy a final group dinner. Those who wish may return to the Sanctuary one last time
for the evening Rosary procession, taking these last quiet hours to entrust final intentions to Our Lady.
Day 5 Return Flight to Birmingham
After a final breakfast together, we check out of our hotel. Our coach will take us from Fatima Lisbon Airport.
As we return home, we carry in our hearts the peace of Fatima, the prayers shared, and the graces received. This
pilgrimage leaves us with not only cherished memories but a deeper connection to Our Lady and a renewed sense
of purpose in our faith journey.
